Use Case:

Hi NVIDIA NIM team,

I’m a solo developer hacking on a side project that uses NIM APIs to help with long-form fiction writing, and I’m hoping you can help me out with a rate limit increase to 200 RPM.

Here’s the situation. When I’m working on a novel chapter — say 3,000 words — I don’t just hit “generate” once and call it done. A real revision pass with the tool looks more like this: I ask it to check a scene against a character’s established voice (which means pulling that character’s profile from a vector store first), then get suggestions, then apply edits, then re-check for consistency, then maybe tighten the dialogue in a specific exchange, then check that nothing contradicts a plot point I set up six chapters ago. Each of those steps is a separate call, and there’s no way around it — every step depends on the result of the one before it.

So one scene revision easily burns through 40-50 API calls in a few minutes. When I’m in the zone and polishing two or three scenes back-to-back, 40 RPM kicks in almost immediately and I spend more time staring at 429 errors than actually writing. The creative flow just dies. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had a good idea mid-session only to lose the thread while waiting for the rate limit to reset.

This is not a product. No users, no revenue, no concurrent traffic. Just me trying to build something that I wish existed when I sit down to write. I picked NIM because the models actually handle nuanced creative tasks well — lighter models tend to spit out generic prose that’s useless for fiction.

I don’t need anything crazy. 200 RPM would let a single writing session run without constant interruptions. That’s it.

Happy to share the project or answer any questions. Thanks for reading.
